London Think Tank, October 2018 – Optimising your Leisure & Cultural Procurement

SLC continue to deliver sector-leading advice to local authorities through our unique and highly acclaimed Think Tank seminars. We are delighted to announce further details about our London Think Tank on Wednesday 3 October 2018 – Optimising your Leisure and Cultural Procurement.

This facilitated peer learning event provides expert advice and learning to help you achieve the very best sustainable outcomes for your service.

Aimed towards Senior Officers and Members, our Think Tank is designed to provide a more informed approach to delivering leisure and cultural services sustainably by exploring the various stages of pre-procurement planning and procuring a solution. It also provides an opportunity to meet with colleagues from other authorities, organisations and experts involved in the transformation of their services in a challenging financial climate.

This invitation-only event has been scheduled for Wednesday 3 October 2018, 9.30am – 4.30pm at the British Library in London.

The case study will be presented by Deputy Chief Executive of North Kesteven District Council, Karen Bradford and Deborah Roberts, Corporate Project Officer who worked closely with SLC on the procurement of two leisure facilities, a Country Park / Visitor Centre and Arts Service including the National Centre for Craft and Design.

SLC’s senior consulting team will be facilitating the sessions and on hand to provide you with valuable insight and tips to achieve successful procurements, deliver financial savings and tangible health and social outcomes.

Why invest in attending a Think Tank?

Ensuring leisure and cultural services are sustainable, affordable and deliver outcomes that matter is likely to be one of your authority’s most important strategic decisions. It is critical that you get it right.

SLC’s unique approach to facilitating our Think Tanks ensures that you are the key contributor, supported by input from sector leading experts and your own peers. SLC will also provide you with ‘surgeries’ to discuss your own portfolio and project in detail and explore opportunities and ideas with sector-leading transformation experts in the fields of service improvement, asset management, facility development and procurement.

What delegates say about Think Tanks

“Great information, excellent in all areas”.

“Great event, well run, managed to encourage relevant and interesting views”.

“Informative and engaging subject matter, presented in a professional but relaxed manner”.

“There is nothing like this type of session anywhere else”.

How to book

Fees for the seminar include lunch, refreshments and a Think Tank summary report. If delegates secure their place before 1st September, the event will only cost £150 plus VAT. After this time, the event fee will be £200 plus VAT.

Attendees are invited to bring an additional colleague from the same authority at half price, subject to availability.
