SLC is delighted to announce that we have been appointed by The Swimathon Foundation to provide strategic support in supporting the growth of its events portfolio, partnerships and fundraising.

The Swimathon Foundation is the owner and custodian of the annual national Swimathon, Open Water Swimathon and School Swimathon events. The main annual Swimathon started in 1986 and has grown to become the world’s largest pool based fund-raising swim, raising more than £48 million. The Foundation also supports swimming through its own Community Grants Scheme through which the Foundation awards grants to local organisations whose projects help to promote swimming in local communities. Recent additions to the Swimathon portfolio of fundraising events include Open Water Swimathon and School Swimathon.

SLC is no stranger to the swimming world. SLC’s Laura Froshaug is a former international swimmer representing Great Britain at the Queensland State Championships in Brisbane, Australia. She also participated in the Swimathon in 2017, and the Swim Serpentine in 2016 raising over £700 for Alzheimer’s Society.  Laura will be part of the SLC team supporting The Swimathon Foundation.

Duncan Wood-Allum, commenting on the appointment, has said “We are delighted to be entrusted with providing The Swimathon Foundation with strategic support for its partnerships and growing portfolio of fundraising events. We look forward to working with the Foundation to support them in achieving their long-term vision of providing a compelling catalyst for the promotion and celebration of swimming through increasing participation and fundraising for good causes.”
