Details announced for SLC’s Sheffield Think Tank, ‘Optimising your Leisure Procurement’ – 2 March 2017

The Sport, Leisure and Culture Consultancy (SLC) would like to invite you to take part in the latest of our successful Think Tank facilitated seminars, Optimising your Leisure Procurement.

This facilitated peer learning event provides expert advice on the approach to externalising your leisure procurement to help you achieve the very best sustainablslc-thinktanks05xe outcomes for your service.

The leisure procurement market is growing exponentially and many councils have been successful in significantly reducing revenue costs by procuring new contracts that provide new services and better outcomes for less, some even yielding revenue surpluses. However, the route to achieving these outcomes can often be daunting and complex.  In response, SLC has developed a series of facilitated seminars called ‘Think  Tanks’ to help councils navigate this route by exploring a range of issues associated with leisure procurements with their peers and procurement experts, providing valuable insight on how to tackle the challenges and exploit the opportunities.

Our Think Tank is designed to help you whatever stage you are in the journey and provides an opportunity to meet with colleagues from other authorities, organisations and experts involved in the transformation of their services in a challenging financial climate.

This invitation-only event has been scheduled for Thursday 2 March 2017, 9.45am – 3.45pm at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield.

SLC’s senior consulting team will be facilitating the sessions and on hand to provide you with valuable insight and tips on ensuring your new leisure contract meets your required financial and social outcomes. It also provides an opportunity to meet with colleagues from other authorities and organisations involved in transforming their services in a challenging financial climate.

The case study focuses on the recent procurement undertaken by SLC on behalf of East Northamptonshire Council which has delivered an outstanding financial outcome and leisure partnership for the local authority with a modest portfolio. It will be presented by Members and Senior Officers.

Who should attend?

The facilitated seminar is aimed at local authority senior Officers and Members that have strategic responsibility for leisure and cultural services and senior transformation / procurement managers.

Why invest in attending a Think Tank?

Procuring a new leisure contract is likely to be one of your authority’s most important strategic decisions and will set out how your service is to be delivered over the next ten years or more. It’s critical that you get it right.

SLC’s unique approach to facilitating our Think Tanks ensures that you are the key contributor, sup
ported by input from sector leading experts and your own peers. This creates a rich learning environment and builds confidence and new support networks.
