North Kesteven District Council has appointed the Sport, Leisure and Culture Consultancy (SLC) to develop its Sport and Physical Activity Strategy. SLC will review the existing Fitness outsideevidence base including the Council’s health, well-being and strategic priorities to develop clear objectives for sports and physical activity services.

The strategy will inform the Council’s approach to its forthcoming procurement of a new leisure and cultural service contract in 2018 linked to longer term partnership working, capacity building, commissioning and service delivery.

The Council’s current leisure and cultural service includes: sports; arts; culture and outreach services, visitor attractions and countryside management services.

Councillor Lindsey Cawrey, Executive Board Member with responsibility for Leisure and Cultural Services said: “North Kesteven District Council has invested over £6,000,000 in its leisure facilities and is embarking of the development of a Sports and Physical Activity Strategy that will ensure that its sports and leisure services meet the needs of its communities in the future.
