We have had a longstanding relationship and direct involvement with many national sector organisations involved in policy development, continuous professional development.
cCLOA
The Chief Cultural and Leisure Officers Association’s mission is to provide leadership for the sector by shaping transformation, facilitating innovation and improvement, and advocating the value and impact of culture and leisure services in achieving stronger, healthier and more vibrant communities.
SLC’s Duncan Wood-Allum has been a co-opted executive member of cCLOA for over five years and has played an active role in the association, contributing to learning events in the south-east and sitting on a variety of sub-groups, including Sport England’s Commissioning Project supporting better engagement between commissioners and commissioning professionals.
The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity
Launched in 2011, CIMSPA is the professional development body for the UK’s sport and physical activity sector. CIMSPA was awarded chartered status by the privy council in 2012. CIMSPA provides leadership and support for professionals working in sport and physical activity, offering a unified voice for the sector.
SLC has a number of staff who are cCLOA members, including Duncan Wood-Allum who was awarded CIMSPA Fellowship in May 2013.
Duncan Wood-Allum is a CIMSPA Chartered Fellow has provided strategic support to CIMSPA and its founding bodies over the last 15 years.
Sportsgroup
Sportsgroup is an industry body for organisations working in the private sector that are active in the sport and physical activity sector. Sportsgroup has strong links with Westminster and lobbies parliament on a number of sector issues.
