Islington Council
Sport and Physical Activity Needs Assessment
We use our deep understanding of the sector to help local authorities develop their strategies for leisure, sport and physical activity, cultural services, selecting a leisure management model and developing new operational partnerships. Our work often has a strong link to public health and wider cross-cutting agendas such as regeneration, community cohesion and place-making. SLC supported Sport England in the development of the Strategic Outcomes Planning Guidance (SOPG) in 2019 and this has been embraced by the sector as an effective diagnostic tool for strategic planning. We are now advising core cities, unitary authorities and Councils in supporting their approach to adapting their service offer following the COVID-19 pandemic.
With a strong evidence-base built on robust research, our strategies provide clients with an affordable, sustainable and deliverable approach to service delivery, facility development, management options and leisure operational partnerships, all aligned to their key strategic outcomes and objectives.
We help your organisation clarify what it wants to achieve and the best approach to achieving it by establishing what your organisation will do, what it will no longer do and what it will enable others to do. Our strategies focus on key priorities and implementation through clear objectives, actions and KPIs.
