CITY WIDE LEISURE REVIEW

In 2013, Liverpool City Council commissioned SLC to undertake a comprehensive review of its in-house leisure services including 13 facilities within the council’s portfolio.

The review sought to identify opportunities to improve financial performance, organisational structures, programming, customer satisfaction and identify an improvement plan.

A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH

Through a thorough engagement and review process which included comprehensive reviews of all key functions within the service, SLC identified a number of areas of good practice and opportunities for further efficiencies and effectiveness.

PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Working closely with City Council colleagues, SLC made a number of short, medium and long-term recommendations to support service improvement and provide better value for money for residents.

FURTHER SUPPORT

SLC was subsequently commissioned in 2014 to further develop the recommendations from the review. Additionally, SLC developed supply and demand studies and supporting business plans for a number of investment scenarios.
